Testimonials " Comments - Hi Jill, Thanks very much for the email but we have now found something. Nevertheless your service has been really helpful. It's far more convenient for me to correspond by email so compared to French Country Cottages who refuse to correspond via email, you win hands up! Will look you up next year. Thanks. Helen " Comments " BARC101 - I cannot speak too highly about the property. It was spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, ideally situated.highly recommendable. John Stark June 2013 " BARC101 " VILL105 - My wife and I stayed at La Barcasse for three weeks at the beginning of May 2012 and found it ideally suited to our needs. The apartment is located very close to the water in the old town of Villefranche and looks down on the Cocteau chapel, onto restaurants & onto a small market that gathers almost daily to cater to passengers brought in on tenders from giant cruise ships that moor out in the deep water bay. The apartment is compact and newly renovated -- including the kitchen and bathroom -- with most everything one needs for daily living. A proper chef's knife would have been welcome. There is a (small) supermarche quite nearby up the hill along with a bakery and green grocer so that basic shopping needs are readily met. There are many restaurants to choose among. Walks in both directions (toward Cap Ferrat & around the Citadel) are a pleasure. Citadel is remarkable and has 3 small museums. It is most convenient to visit La Barcasse without a car as parking would be a problem and the bus service, though crowded, works well to visit Nice, Cap Ferrat, Monaco, Menton, Vence and Eze. Nice merits several visits. The 100 & 81 buses run along the Bas Corniche but to reach Eze you need to take the 80 bus to change at the Moyenne Corniche. Views from both corniches are amazing. The train is less crowded and recommended to travel to Monaco or Menton to avoid standing on the bus. Also the train is the way to get to Cannes. Views from the train are less amazing. We were lucky with the weather except for a couple of days and, therefore, overall enjoyed our stay greatly. " VILL105 " VILL104 - Guest reviews: " My husband, my children aged 7 and 9 and myself stayed in this recently renovated apartment in Villefranche at end of July. We had a marvellous time. The apartment is centrally located with easy access to supermarket, ATM and other convenience shops. The apartment is very spacious and the view breathtaking. The beach is only a few minutes walk from the apartment. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from - all within walking distance. I would highly recommend this apartment for a perfect holiday and we will definitely be returning to it again. " " VILL104 " VFSM103 - GUEST COMMENTS My husband and I rented Villa Sunsong in April from the 14th-21st 2012 and as we numbered only 3 - hubby, baby and me - I invited my best friend from my schooldays to bring her family - who numbered 4 - to spend the week with us. That we were able to live in the same villa, yet separately, was perfect for us as we were able to breakfast and dine together as and when we wanted due to there being all the requirements in both of the apartments. The villa was lovely with it's cool marble floors and the big pool was a great hit with the children and we all loved the view from the sun loungers. The villa was perfectly located as we could pop over to San Remo in Italy, where I have always wanted to go and it's a mere 40 mins away. On arrival at the villa, we were met by the owners manageress who couldn't do enough for us. She showed us where everything was from the baby highchair to extra china in case we needed more! She was very kind and helpful and I got the impression that I could call her anytime, had I needed to. We will defiantly be back to stay next year. Mrs Skelton, Buckinghamshire This was a beautiful stay! ough when you look it up and go there the first time, it appears a bit far away because of several slopes in the mountain. However, with a rental car, this is the perfect location to explore the Cote-d-Azur and have a great view over the sea. The swimming pool we only saw from the window as it was December and very cold. But at least we were able to imagine the beautiful views you have from the spacious terrace. All amenities including technical issues like TV for kids or Internet were in a perfect up-to-date-state and the heaters, once turned on for the first night, are sufficient to heat the house in the winter time. The furniture are provencal and very clean, also is everything els in the villa. The villa is located very close to Nice, only 15 minutes drive or even shorter, so are Monaco and Eze. We were there on my mother's birthday and my brother and family came to visit the lower apartment as a surprise. For two families who come there together to have a joint stay, the villa is perfect. As the pool is located on the one side of the upper appartment only,to rent only one appartment in summer time is not recommendable. Elektra and her husband are total stars! They looked after the villa during our stay and were always there on the phone or in person to help us out with what question we had soever. And they were so charming and helpful, which is very important as you do not have a reception desk like in the hotel. With their friendly welcome and their round the clock hospitality, you never had the feeling to disturb if you had any silly question about the house. And they even prepared a tour guide what and how to make excursions from the house that beats every lonely planet. Altogether, I would always recommend the villa and would be happy to stay there again! thx a lot, Susanne What a wonderful location. from the minute the doors opened onto the long gleaming marble hallway, we knew we were in for e treat.Spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the spacious accomodation allowed us to split up into groups so that the teenagers could be in the downstairs apartment while we oldies luxuriated on the main terrace. The downstairs apartment has a smaller terrace as well. Very comfortably furnished, luxurious bathrooms and adequate equipment. Remember to book beach towels for use at the amazing "Hollywood" pool. An excellent base to explore the Cote, we loved the Picasso museum in Antibes, and the antique shops by the port in Nice. A car is essential. Also driving up into the villages along the Fench/ Italian border was heavenly. I reccomend a visit to Thiery, where we had a superb lunch at the hunting lodge and viewed the alps from a special viewing spot high on a peak by the village church. Jim and Brenda, Bristol, UK (20/04/12) " VENC101 " VAS108 - GUESTBOOK: "I stayed here in last week Aug 2010 . It is a fabulous apartment ! Clean and spacious .The complex has excellent security , just the right distance from the beach, Wonderful restaurants with delicious fish caught locally. The on site swimming pool was perfect. Very friendly with a lovely greeting from the owner's mother . Can't think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy staying here." "The vacation was fantastic ; the only rain we had was when walking back from the plage after listening to some live music from buenovista social club ( a cuban jazz band).! Other than that the sun shone brightly. The apartment was fantastic and very roomy despite 8 of us being resident there. There was plenty of information on the area in the box under the coffee table and your father kindly recommended a couple of very nice restaurants in Beziers." " VAS108 " VALM101 - COMMENTS FROM GUESTBOOK Guests wrote: '...a wonderful time in a real gem of a location, The children really enjoyed all of the activities in the area especially the wild rivers, the horse riding and the thermal swimming pools. We loved the walks and the views from the ridge behind the village-We will be back!' and August 08 guests wrote '...we had a wonderful break and loved the villa. The kids had a great time discovering all the wildlife in the garden…All the instructions etc were very helpful and the villa had everything we needed. We hope to come back for more one day! ' " VALM101 " VAS105 - GUESTBOOK The accommodation was very well suited to our needs, having two small children. There were plenty of child sleeping options and two big boxes of toys - one for outdoor use and one for indoor use. The pool was fully secure for children and the TV, DVD player, internet etc ensured there was no shortage of entertainment when you wanted to keep the kids out of the sunshine for a while. The cooking facilities were excellent and the simple but familiar IKEA childrens' plates, cups etc made it feel like a home from home. I would definitely recommend this accommodation for families travelling with children of all ages. " VAS105 |
