The house is located 5 minutes walk from the centre of a quiet village. The village has all essentials including a bar, pizza van and one of the best wine making caves in the region supplying one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants.
There is a larger variety of supermarkets, banks and restaurants at the next village, Magalas, a 5 minute drive away. In Magalas is a restaurant called O Bontemps which is fast becoming known as the best restaurant in the region so if you want to eat here on your holiday you need to book a couple of weeks beforehand - please ask for details and we will make the booking for you.
Puissalicon is a peaceful and beautiful circular village at the base of a feudal castle dating back from the 11th century, and has a gothic church built in 1337. Wine growing is the main economic activity and Puissalicon produces first-class wines.
The beaches of the Mediterranean are only a short drive away, while to the north the mountains offer a number of cooler lakes, ideal for a refreshing dip in the summer.
Historical Beziers is only 10 minutes away, and is a vibrant town bustling with traditional Mediterranean shops and its magnificent Cathedral that looks out from its great height over oceans of vine yards.
The Canal du Midi cuts through town, ideal for boat hire or cycling along the tow path. Each summer the 'Feria' Carnival brings tourists from around the world.
Montpellier is just over an hour away, and offers excellent shopping and hypermarkets. Enjoy the superb Tram system, alight at the 'Palace de Comedie' for sightseeing and refreshment.
The costal plain provides literally hundreds of Domaines for superb wine tasting - its obligatory!
For a slice of culture you could visit Castillet an old fortress built in the 14th Century housing an art history museum. This is one of the most popular sights of Perpignan.
Cathar history is present almost everywhere and the ancient fortress of Carcassonne is only an hours drive away and well worth a visit, especially on jousting days!
Enthusiastic visitors can enjoy a great variety of activities including hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, water sports, canoeing and river rafting, horse riding, tennis and golf.
Pezenas has a large open-air market every Saturday which is well worth a visit. The town boasts that it was once the home of Moliere and there are many craft shops, restaurants and beautiful buildings. During July and August on a Wednesday and Friday the craft shops are open until midnight and you will often find street theatre groups to entertain you !

The beautiful tree-lined Canal du Midi which links the Atlantic with the Mediterranean has miles of flat walks along the shady tow paths.
Cap d'Agde (20 minutes) has beaches and water sports, boat trips, beautiful harbour, golf, casino, fashionable shopping, nightclubs, waterfront restaurants, several children's theme parks and a fabulous water park (Aqualand).
Budget airlines fly regularly to Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassonne, Beziers and Nimes, all within easy reach. The TGV goes to Beziers and Eurostar operates a non-stop service from Waterloo to Avignon in high season. Spain, Andorra and the Pyrenees are within easy reach and the area is surrounded with the vineyards of the Herault. |

| DESCRIPTION: |
The house is a former wine-makers house and is over 100 years old. It has been beautifully renovated and now provides spacious and very attractive accommodation over 2 levels.
Enter from the road up steps leading to the first floor entrance and into a large hall. There is a kitchen with electric oven, 4 gas hobs, fridge, freezer, microwave and pantry. Table and chairs for 6.
Scullery with washing machine, dishwasher and 2 basins.
The lounge is huge with a couple of comfortable seating areas and a dining area for up to 14 overlooking the garden. It has a very cosy feel with original beams and a beautiful tiled floor. TV, video and MP3 speakers.
Also on this floor are two twin bedrooms, one very large with a marble fireplace and the other with doors onto the rear terrace. Bathroom with shower, basin and WC.
The second floor has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a large bathroom with bath, basin and WC. There is also a separate WC on this level.
A second huge lounge is also found on this level and could be used as extra sleeping accommodation if necessary as there is a sofabed here. This room is ideal as a childrens lounge and has a TV with UK satellite and DVD player.
The garden has an oval swimming pool, terrace area, courtyard and upstairs terrace. There is plenty of garden furniture supplied.
Our view - a superb location for great holidays.

The private terrace is accessed through the 2nd bedroom on the first floor and there is space to enjoy outdoor meals or sunbathe here. A super new stone and wrought iron staircase leads down to the swimming pool, courtyard, garden and garage.
The garden has some mature orange and lemon trees and a couple areas for relaxing either in the sun or under the shade of the trees. Garden furniture is provided for either sunbathing or dining.Seating for 10 to dine and 10 sun loungers.
There is an oval pool which is 6m x 3m x about 5 feet deep and has an alarm for safety and also a water current.
The garage is suitable for either one large or two small cars and there is a second area with a table tennis table. Also there is a shower and WC. |
