GUEST COMMENTS; This gite is just as good as all reviews - and more! well-equipped but also feels like a home. the rooftop terrace is ideal to relax with a wine or have breakfast - wonderful. local boulangerie is a minute walk away as are two good restaurants. our surprise was how beautiful the whole region was - treated to views of vineyards and distant mountains on our daily trips. recommend local bike hire for canal du midi (close) and swim in lake jourrac. of course the trip to carcassonne is amazing but dont miss nearby grottes and gouffre! we would definitely recommend this gite and great base. The location was fantastic in the little town of Olonzac and within a good drive to the other towns and not too far from the beach either. We had absolutely everything we needed and more. The place was very clean and we have no suggestions of what should be added to the property, the gite charming as it is! No problems with the payments. Our stay in Olonzac was fantastic. There is so much to do in the area, particulary exploring (and tasting!) all the different vineyards. The house is decorated so well and the thoughtful tokens of the milk and wine much appreciated. One of our favourite things was having a glass of wine and chilling out on the terrace. In fact we got engaged on the terrace which will always make Chez LuLu a very special place for us. 2011 July We’ve had a really wonderful holiday here. “Chez LuLu” proved to be everything it had promised to be and even a little more. We thoroughly enjoyed the area; especially charmed by ‘Minerve’ and the ‘Canal du Midi’. And of course there was always this little house to come home to; the peace and quiet on the terrace of “Chez LuLu”. 2011 June There are no words, above and beyond. We will be back. Thank you Lucy. This beautiful 3 storey town house is perfectly located right in the centre of Olonzac, the ‘capital’ of the Minervois wine growing region.

Within a minute’s walk, you will be able to soak up the atmosphere of this charming town. Whether you wish to mingle with the locals at the market, which is one of the best in the area, go shopping, enjoy a fine meal at one of the many nearby restaurants or simply relax over a cup of coffee or glass of wine, Olonzac has all you could wish for a memorable French holiday!

DESCRIPTION:

This one bedroom property has 60m2 of living accommodation and has been extensively renovated and decorated with style in mind, whilst retaining its authentic charm.

The house has a wonderful light and relaxing feel to it and has been furnished to a standard seen usually in far more expensive properties.

GROUND FLOOR

Inside the house you will be greeted by a brand new kitchen and dining area with wood-burning stove.

FIRST FLOOR

Moving upstairs there is a double bedroom and a shower room.

SECOND FLOOR

The sitting room is situated on the secnd floor with TV with UK Satellite and DVD.

Beyond this you will be able to sit out on the charming private roof terrace and enjoy a glass of wine on a mild French evening.

LOCAL AMENITIES

This small town's bustling centre becomes even more vibrant on Tuesdays as it is market day.

If you are looking for something a little more relaxing, then why not take a stroll around pleasant park or the Lac de Jouarres - a beautiful lake ideal spot for reading, fishing, boating, swimming, and wind surfing.

Olonzac, only a 45-minute drive from Carcassonne and even less from Narbonne and Beziers, is ideally placed for exploring this lovely region.

A 10 minute walk will take you to Homps, where you will find the Canal du Midi, which offers lots of opportunities for walking, cycling or a boat trip as well as relaxing with a drink in one of the many cafes watching the passing boats.
