The village of Oupia is set in the heart of the Minervois vineyards and is 30 mins from Carcassonne, Narbonne and the Med beaches. This small sleepy village of 200 inhabitants is located in the Languedoc region. It is a typical Minervois village nestled against the Serre d'Oupia in the largest wine growing area in France the Languedoc.
The house is situated in the Aude valley with the Black Mountains to the North and the Pyrenees to the South.
The village is a sleepy backwater and has one road in and one road out!!!
The closest town is Olonzac which is 2km from the villa.
The beautiful Canal du Midi runs by approximately 2km from the property.
If you're looking to head to the stunning sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, you can expect to drive approximately 30 minutes.
The medieval town of Carcassonne is just a 30km drive away, and the Cathar Castles are about 45 mins away. Minerve with its glorious gorge and gorgeous villages is 30 mins away, and Narbonne is again 30 mins away.
The area is full of historic Cathar castles with its links to the Da Vinci Code.
