There is a restaurant within reasonable walking distance, about 1 mile away, beside the locks where the Canal du Midi passes under the Beziers road.

The nearest beach is at Narbonne Plage, 30 minutes away. Languedoc is famous for its miles of sandy beaches.There are
4 bicycles available for guests to use. Please ask for details.

The nearest airport is at Carcassonne (45km). There are also convenient airports at Beziers, Girona and Perignan. The area is also accessible from the airports at Toulouse, Montpelier and Barcelona. The nearest train station is at Lezignan-Corbieres (12km).

The famous Canal du Midi waterway passes close to Tourouzelle and the ports at Homps and Argens are only a few minutes away. Carcassonne, the magnificent medieval fortress town, is only 25 mins away. Narbonne is 20 mins. To the north, the Cathars village of Minerve, which overlooks the spectacular gorge formed by the river Cesse, is only a 20 minute drive. Even closer to home, only 4km away, Lac de Jouarres offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing.

The village of Olanzac (4km) has a wonderful market on a Tuesday. There are several restaurants, a bank, a variety of shops and a supermarket there as well. There are many places along the Canal du Midi to relax with a drink or to enjoy a meal.


Tourouzelle is an ideal location to enjoy the Languedoc Roussillon region of France. This quiet village is the home to several wine domains and has a shop and a post office.

The famous Canal du Midi waterway passes close to Tourouzelle and the ports at Homps and Argens are only a few minutes away. You will find good restaurants at Homps and you can hire canoes and picnic at Lac Jouares.

Wonderful beaches are only a 30 to 45 min drive. You can visit developed coastal areas like Narbonne Plage or visit vast natural sandy stretches such as those near Leucate Plage. Carcassonne, the magnificent medieval fortress town, is only 25 mins away.

A five minute car journey will take you to - the nearest town Olonzac where they have a thriving Market day (Tuesday)

Within a half hour drive is the famous medieval city of Carcassonne (well worth a visit) and the attractive city of Narbonne. A choice of beaches just another 10 minutes away at Narbonne Plage and beyond.

The World Heritage site La Pont du Gard is a couple of hours away but a great day out combined with a visit to the nearby Nimes.

Narbonne is 20 mins away and there are several beautiful coastal towns such as Bages.

To the north, the Cathars village of Minerve, which overlooks the spectacular gorge formed by the river Cesse, is only a 20 minute drive.

Even closer to home, only 4km away, Lac de Jouarres offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. Swimmers are supervised by a lifeguard and you can eat in the lakeside restaurant.

This detached family house is situated in a beautiful and quiet location, adjacent to vineyards and overlooking open countryside. There is lots of space to eat outside, sunbathe and swim in private.
