In summer the large market is held on Monday and Friday along the seafront and picturesque port. Locally caught fish and seafood is widely available every day.

In the summer evenings free open air concerts are put on in the port's amphitheatre. So whether you want to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the sand and sea, explore the countryside, taste the many local wines direct from the owners or dine in the many varied restaurants, Valras Plage has it all.

The Languedoc, situated in the South of France, enjoys 300 days of sunshine a year. It is the largest wine growing area in France. From the mountains in the north to the Mediterranean Sea in the south, it provides the visitor with a diverse range of sights and activities. Discover the World Heritage Site of Le Cite in Carcassonne, the beautiful Pont du Gard. The extraordinary man made Canal Du Midi which links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean is a must. Visit the vibrant city of Beziers, a short drive away with its wide Boulevard Pierre Paul Riquet (architect of the Canal Du Midi) and his engineering triumph, Les Neufs Ecluses. Further to the east, the protected area of Carmague, with flamingos, wild white horses and the bulls reared for bullfighting in the arenas of Arles and Beziers.
