Why the owner chose a home in this location:
We have visited this area of France for many years and love the light and scents of provence, it never fails to lift our spirits. The location of the villa allows us to walk down to the centre to be involved in the hustle and bustle of the town or just relax around the pool and potter in the garden, depending on our mood. If feeling energetic we dust off the bicycles and ride around the country lanes up to the foot of the Alpilles.
Inside on the ground floor there is the open plan living area with three sets of French windows out onto the gardens, the fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a separate WC, on the upper floor there are two double bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC.

Bedroom 2 upper floor - double bed.

Unique benefits of the property :
We found the town to be a central point to all sorts of places of interest and activities, the town holds lots of fêtes and specialist events, there are lots of vineyards and olive oil producers to visit in the local area. We chose this villa because of the large garden and the privacy it affords us. The garden is still evolving and we love planning and bringing our vision ever closer to completion.
The villa is detached and in a large garden which has two levels, there are lovely lavender lined rustic steps leading down to the lower level where you will find the private pool, there are mature oaks which cast welcome shadows where you can shelter out of the heat of the day, if you are quiet you may be visited by the local red squirrels. The upper garden wraps around the villa, there is a pergola over the south facing terrace which has wisteria and fragrant Jasmine providing cover where you can relax and sip local wines.
There is parking space for two cars (medium to small size) on the hard-standing inside the gates to the villa. There is gravel to all the non planted areas on both levels of the garden. The villa and garden are not suitable for young children (under the age of 5).
The pool is 8m by 4m and has three corner steps into it, the shallow end is 0.90 m and the deep end is 1.8m it has a salt filtration system so you will not suffer red sore eyes which chemically filtered pools can cause, it is heated by the sun, average summer temperature is 18 to 22 degrees.
There are plenty of areas around the pool or other areas of the gardens to set up the chairs or sunbeds either in the sun or in the shade of the oak trees. There is a gas barbecue available, a table with six chairs for dining outside either on the terrace or patio and other furniture you can set up wherever you feel you want to be in the gardens.
At the present time the villa and garden are not suitable for people with restricted mobility. There are two steps to the north and east facing doors, there is level access to the south facing doors.

" SRDP102 - GUEST COMMENTS: "Recently spent a week in this beautiful villa in St. Remy. Came with our daughter and 4month old baby. The villa is very comfortable and in a peaceful area about a 10min walk from the centre of St.Remy using the canal path. There is plenty of good outdoor furniture and spent many a pleasant hour using the very comfortable seating under the pergola, quaffing the local wine. A full size cot and highchair were provided for baby, which he appreciated. Simon (the man on the spot) was very helpful giving help and information. The villa provided an excellent base for what proved to be a wonderful, restful holiday in beautiful St. Remy." "Exceeded expectations. It is a high quality villa in a great location. We were delighted with this property and really enjoyed our stay. The photos understated the quality of the property." Richard, August 2012 "
