About Chez Francois

When you open the door to Appartement Francois you can't help but relax. The high ceilings with exposed beams and windows on three sides complement the bright and airy feel throughout. The pièce de résistance is the sunny terrace, next to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Being all on one level makes everything easy.

The apartment is situated in the historic centre of Pezenas - a lively village famous for its former resident, the playwright Moliere. Everything is mere steps away and yet once inside the apartment, all is calm and quiet.

Tall windows on three sides allow for cross breezes and there is also an air conditioner and wall heaters so that any season is comfortable. The entire apartment is very private - perfect for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. You will find that it provides you with all that you will need while you are on holiday. In fact, many guests comment that it feels like a 'home away from home.' That is the best compliment to us as hosts.

Layout

The apartment is all on one level with an easy set of stairs leading to the apartment itself. You enter into the main living area which offers ample seating provided by two sofas next to the television with satellite TV (or use the HDML cord to connect to your laptop). The dining table is just beyond, across from the large kitchen with ample workspace - a chef's dream for preparing food. The kitchen includes an oven, cooktop, double sink, large microwave, full-size fridge, multiple pots & pans plus ample dinnerware. Coffee options are french press, instant, drip, mocha or pods. Two arched doors lead to the private terrace, with an awning for hot days, a BBQ and flowers and herbs for you to enjoy. At the other end of the apartment is a large master bedroom with ensuite. There is another bedroom with two single beds. Both bedrooms look out onto a 15th century courtyard. There is a separate shower room and W/C.

There is something for everyone in Pezenas and area -- from restaurants to brocante (antique) shops to beaches - as well as a local pool. Summer is when all the artisans open their doors to the public, multiple restaurants appear in the most unlikely places, wine tastings abound and beaches beckon to young and old. The Canal du Midi is not far away, as well as the Camargue, Millau Viaduct, Perpignan, Montpellier and so much more. There is a lively market every Saturday in Pezenas. During July and August, Les Estivales offers food and wine tasting once a week on the main street in town. Fall is lovely -- for bike rides, the grape harvest and any excuse to continue eating al fresco.

Further Information

You will have access to everything in the apartment, including highspeed internet. There are various places you can set up a workspace - in one of the bedrooms, at the dining table, or our favorite - the marble topped table looking out at the terrace and rooftops beyond! The terrace is private and perfect for sunbathing, dining or just soaking up the sounds of Pezenas -- like churchbells and birds singing. The storage cupboard is well equipped with outdoor towels and beach toys/chairs. You can wash and iron your clothes. There are also safety and mending kits as well as a safe for your valuables. There's even a yoga mat so you can say you did your downward dog pose while in the south of France!
