Holiday Villas in the Languedoc
Languedoc is the South of France with room to breathe, and the best value on the coast: long Mediterranean beaches, vineyards, medieval towns like Carcassonne and Pézenas, and villas at prices well below the Riviera. Our Languedoc collection is part of the 500+ hand-picked villas we represent across the South of France, each vetted for quality and many visited in person. Whether you want a beach villa near Agde, a wine-country retreat inland, or a base for exploring Cathar castles, use the search above for live availability, or browse by area below.

Bordering Spain, the ever more popular tourist destination of Languedoc-Roussillon has a distinct mix of French-Spanish culture, cuisine and architecture. It is traditionally the lesser known region of the South of France, offering great value for money family holiday homes, villas and chateaux located only a few miles from the Mediterranean beaches. Looking from afar, the Languedoc is really only about two things - miles upon miles of sun-kissed sandy beaches and miles upon miles of sweet-scented green vineyards. Being a superb family holiday destination, the many coastal resorts such as Cap d'Agde, la Grande-Motte, Argelès-sur-Mer and Valras-Plage draw thousands of tourists each summer. The picturesque and history-steeped inland towns and villages around Montpellier, Beziers, Narbonne, Perpignan and Pézenas make a great base for your holiday.
Where is the best place to rent a villa in Languedoc?
For beaches, choose Agde and Sete, Narbonne or Perpignan; for towns and culture, Montpellier, Beziers, Pezenas or Carcassonne. For quiet countryside, choose the Haut-Languedoc. Languedoc offers the best value on the South of France coast, and South France Holiday Villas has vetted villas across all of these areas.

Why Rent a Villa in Languedoc?
Languedoc gives you the same Mediterranean sun as the Riviera for noticeably less, with bigger gardens, more space and fewer crowds. Our holiday villas in Languedoc range from stone wine-domaine houses inland to modern villas a short drive from the beach, most with a private pool and outdoor dining. It is one of the easiest regions to reach by car from the UK and by air into Montpellier, Carcassonne, Béziers-Cap d'Agde or Perpignan, which makes it a favourite for families and larger groups looking for value.
Beach Villas and Best Value in the South of France
Languedoc has some of the longest sandy beaches in the South of France, from Agde and Sete to Narbonne-Plage and the Roussillon coast, and many of our villas sit within a short drive of the sea. It is also where the private-pool pound stretches furthest. If a pool or beach proximity is your priority, browse the collections below and we will filter for Languedoc properties.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Languedoc considered the best value in the South of France?
Prices per week are typically well below the Cote d'Azur for a comparable villa and pool, while the beaches, sun and food are just as good. You get more space and garden for your budget.
Where are the best beaches in Languedoc?
The coast around Cap d'Agde, Valras-Plage, Gruissan and the Roussillon runs for miles of sand. Many of our villas are a short drive from the sea.
Do your Languedoc villas have private pools?
Most do, and this is one of the best regions for pool value. Filter for a pool in the search or ask our team to shortlist pool villas for your dates.
Which airport should we use?
Montpellier, Beziers, Perpignan and Carcassonne all serve the Languedoc with UK flights. The region is also easy to reach by car via the A9 or by rail.
Is Languedoc good for families?
Very. The beaches are gentle and sandy, villas tend to be spacious with large gardens, and value means you can book a bigger property for the same budget.
What is there to do beyond the beach?
Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, the Canal du Midi, the vineyards of the Minervois and Corbieres, and market towns like Pezenas and Uzes are all within easy reach.
How far ahead should we book?
For July and August, book several months ahead for the best beach and pool villas. Shoulder-season weeks are usually available closer to the date.
