Its unique position in what one could still call 'La Provence Secrète' allows you to benefit from the unspoilt surroundings, still largely unaffected by mass tourism. Stroll around the relaxing, tailored garden while watching the sunset over Avignon and the whole North Vaucluse, and just soak in the tranquillity. Perched at the summit of a rocky outcrop, Venasque is a picturesque fortified village classed amongst one of the 126 "Most Beautiful Villages in France."

Perched within the rock face of the Vaucluse mountains, with the valley of the Nesque below Venasque richly deserves its classification amongst the Most Beautiful Villages in France. The town is surounded on all sides by medieval ramparts. Venasque has a beautiful forest surrounding it, with picturesque trails and several shepherds' dwellings made out of rocks piled together without mortar to create distinctive domed shepherds huts called "bories". The gorgeous Fontaine de Vaucluse and the Nesque Gorge are also very near if you follow the mountain pass from Methamis. Each year the village hosts a series of art expositions in July-August.
