The Villa Marie-Lavandes is ideally positioned on a small hill, two minutes away from the historic centre of the charming, ancient village of Castelnau, at the gates of the city of Montpellier with easy access to the beaches, the airport, and a vast array of unmissable cultural sites.

With a garden of 850m2, complemented by a swimming pool with sun loungers, and table tennis, this villa provides all the outdoor entertainment one could need under the sun of the Mediterranean coast. The outdoor dining for 8 under the canopy of a large shade sail, with accompanying plancha, are guaranteed to make those sultry summer evenings a memory you will take home with you. The separate summer lounge, composed of two large sofas and an array of armchairs with the option of a large parasol, allow you to relax by the poolside for hours on end.

The path to the villa’s main entrance is playfully scattered with patches of lavender and oleanders, will usher you to this peaceful, private residence, completely safe from prying eyes. With 200 m2 spread over 3 storeys, Villa des Lavandes offers a large living room fitted with comfortable leather sofas and a fireplace, followed by an open kitchen and dining room which give directly onto he east and south gardens through large floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The kitchen has a island with a breakfast bar, as well as an extra dining table which sits up to 8 guests.

Going a few steps up from the entrance level, a corridor that leads to the master bedroom with a private terrace and an en-suite shower room and dressing room. Another three bedrooms (one of which has a double bed and one has a high sleeper bed) share a family bathroom. A few steps down from the entry level, you will find another double bedroom with a separate shower room, as well as an office area with a desk and sofa.

Private parking for one car is available on the property, with street parking available beyond. Public transport is easily accessible, bus and tram stops are close by. Everything one could need is within short walking distance: a bakery, butchers, greengrocers, a cheesemonger and wine merchant, and the village’s famous outdoor market weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The centre of Castelnau-le-Lez is a labyrinth of enchanting alleyways and crisscrossing stairways, giving onto a main plaza (with restaurants and wine bars galore), as well as connecting to the Lez river and its charming paths that will make you think you are in a painting (which might have been true if you were born in the 19th century, when local painter Frédéric Bazille captured a family reunion in the area, now on display at the Musée d’Orsay).
